Dr. Grace Xia Zhao

Growing up in Sichuan, China, and starting her journey as a pianist at age three, Dr. Grace Xia Zhao spent her whole life navigating the world through music. Not till decades of performing and teaching music to various audiences she started to contemplate fundamental questions such as “what is music for?” and “why should we all embrace a musical life?” These questions prompted her to explore the theories, research, and practices of music’s impact on well-being and human flourishing. Project Harmonia is the brainchild of these explorations – a practice focusing on musical approaches to a fulfilled life.
